Inevitable FEAR

Whether we are open about it or not we all face fear at one point in our life. This week I began reading my boss's book Born on The Border. It wasn't a required reading or anything, but I love reading. Well there was a quote that stood out from the reading that made me really sit down alone for awhile and think.
"Porque voy a tener miedo"

Why should I be afraid?
Like what is the worse that can happen, If I'm already at the bottom why should I let fear stop me from trying to improve my life. I realize that it's easy to let fear get the best of us, but we also have to embrace fear. Fear has been the biggest motivator and it is what has got me this far in school. I find it interesting though, that many times the mention of the word is taken negativity. Maybe because we have this negative stigma attached to the word. So its time we embrace the world and be more open about talking about our fears instead of hiding them.

Career Service

Spring Career & Internship Fair @ Tempe

I was a little hesitate to attend the career fair because I had never attended one to began with. Not the greatest reason of course. Even though the Tempe Spring Career & Internship Fair had few career representatives in my major, I still decided to attend so I could have a preview of what to expect when the downtown Phoenix has their own.

It was a good learning experience because even though I only found the Teach For America interesting, I learned to go prepared with questions to ask and leave enough time to spend time looking around at other career stands because I never know what opportunities lay out there.  I showed up the last hour so I did not have enough time to take a look around, it came down to find the one that interests me the most and wait in line to talk to a representative. Now that the Downtown career fair is upcoming soon, I will be way more prepared and actually do my research and leave enough time to not be rushed.
